Making a Caesar Salad at Home

** Eagle eyed viewers will notice we have used mayonnaise in this recipe and not a fresh Caesar dressing, which we have included in the actual recipe. We thought during COVID it would be easier to use a readily available condiment rather then trying a fresh dressing.
Caesar Salad Recipe
Ingredients:
- Chopped garlic, 1 tsp
- Chopped caper, 1 tsp
- Chopped anchovy (optional), 1 tsp
- White wine vinegar, 1 tsp
- Lemon juice, 1 tsp
- Parmesan powder, 1 tbs
- Mayonnaise, 2 tbs
- Olive oil, 1 tbs
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- Cos salad or any salad, 100 g
- Crispy bacon, 40 g
- Croutons, 20 g
- Shredded Parmesan, as you like
Method:
- Mix all the ingredient for dressing the mixing bowl with whisk
- Mix dressing with salad well together
- Place salad in the serving bowl, add crispy bacon, croutons and shredded Parmesan on top and it's ready to serve
For a classic fresh dressing - Whisk one egg yolk, lemon juice and ½ tsp Dijon mustard. Then drop by drop (as whisking) add the olive oil and 3 tbs vegetable oil until consistency reached. Adding oil to fast without whisking enough will lead to the dressing splitting, so keep up a steady whisk and pour.
